By clicking on this page, you have voluntarily subjected yourself to a short history of my life…. Now isn’t that FUN!!! So, I was born December 15, 1981 in Seattle, Washington the first child of Homer and Cindy Floyd. My Dad is a contract analyzer for the company Boeing and my Mom is just that…stay–at-home mom. After seeing how wonderful a child I was, my parents decided to do it again…..by the time they were finished I had 5 brothers and sisters to call my own. Miriam, born 1983, is a college student at University of Houston studying to be a lawyer. Joseph, born 1985, is still in high school and does the typical “hanging out” thing. Bethany, born 1988, is also in high school. She loves baby-sitting and school. And, finally, Homer III (we call him William), born 1991, is in middle school and is the quiet, gentle type..just an overall sweet kid. The last member of my family, Kelsey, came to us in 1997 through…. adoption is the easiest way to say it (it’s a LONG story, but I don’t have the time or energy to tell it….) Kelsey is in kindergarten and is very charming….and silly. She says the most funny and off-the wall things sometimes, its hilarious. Now as I said, my family and I lived in Washington State. Shortly, after I was born my parents moved out of the city and into suburban life, a little town called Bonney Lake. This is where we grew up. I had the typical childhood and adolescence. I won’t bore you with the details….so skipping ahead a couple years to the year 1999. I am beginning my senior year of high school, and semi-depressed with life (teen angst at its best, you know). My parents decide a change of scenery would help, so my Dad gets a job transfer. When the dust settles, I find myself living in League City, Texas, a suburb of Houston. Due to some miscalculations and missing credits (due to the incompetence of Clear Creek High School counselors. Don’t worry I am not bitter.. anymore), I wasn’t able to graduate high school until 2001. After graduation, I attended college at Alvin Community Fall semester 2001 and spring semester of 2002 for a year. Towards the end of my spring semester, I met a man whom would forever change my life. His name is John Lafitte. He is a computer programmer and is by far the most wonderful man in the world. We met through mutual friends. Now I could sit here, and try to tell you how much I love him, but words couldn’t explain to you how much I admire and adore him. I can tell you that we married on February 1, 2003 because we both realized that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and that feeling hasn’t changed. Currently in my life, I am living with John in Southwest Houston. I work as
the marketing coordinator of a small point-of sale company called Retail Information
Systems. I am preparing to go back to school and start the Occupational Therapy
program offered at Houston Community College. John is working for a large computer
company called CSC. CSC currently is contracting him out, to a large resources
company called BHP Billiton. We spend all of our spare time together doing whatever
it may be. We will try anything once. I love to read and am addicted to all
types of reality television (it’s a really sick obsession, I know). John
loves to work on his computer building websites or whatever else he does. He
is very dedicated to it. My life may not be a fairy tale, but I am defiantly
living happily ever after with John. |
