MOVING SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     5/28/2005     [0 comments]
Okay, I was all happy about buying a house until I realized this entailed moving all John and my stuff. Oh, my god moving is a bitch... but in other happier news we bought our first new house. It is a gorgeous two story house out on the edge of Stafford and Sugar-Land. Happier times are upon us as soon as we get all this stuff into our new place. Better go...have more packing to do.

Lucky Girl     4/14/2005     [1 comments]
Just wanted a few moments to gloat about what a lucky girl I am. One of my patients made a silly comment today, that really made me stop and think, even though he didn't mean to. He was just mad that I had increased the weight during an exersise we were doing together, and he said in a gruff, but joking manner...easy for you to say...your just a pretty lucky little girl..wait til you break that first hip, then have someone tell you to do this damn exersise.  Now while he was doing the exersise I started thinking and realized I really am pretty lucky. I have a wonderful husband who supports me in whatever I do, extended family and friends who are also there for me, a dog who no matter what trouble she gets herself into still manages to make me smile and laugh, a place which I can call home, a good job that makes enough money that we can afford ourselves small luxuaries of life and enjoy life. What more could I ask for at this age. I really am lucky!!!

Gonna Work With the Crazies     4/7/2005     [0 comments]
I just got out of my first PPMAB class which stands for the "Prevention and Management of Aggresive Behavior." All employees working in the psychaitric department of the hospital I am working for are required to take this class. Its interesting all the techniques they are "teaching" me, but its funny, after each simulation of an aggressive behavior the teacher always turns around and says..."And if this doesn't work I suggest you get out of there as fast as you can, you never know what could happen its better to be safe than sorry." He is also acting as if no gets out of this job alive. Good lord, if it was that dangerous, I would want higher pay, but I know its not that dangerous, the company is just trying to cover their butt in case something ever were to happen. I did an intership at this hospital, and I really enjoyed it or I wouldn't be coming back. I just fit it well with the patients, call me crazy too, but we just clicked...I come down to their level and treat them like any other person rather than like a sick or invalid person. b

Elvis Has Left the Building, And I Am On My Way In     3/28/2005     [0 comments]

Well, this weekend  John and I along with the usual family crew are headed to Memphis, Tennesse for a bowling tournement. This should prove interesting. I have never been to Graceland, or anywhere in Tenn. for that matter. I hope to place at the tournement, again. It is fun to win. This past weekend was Easter and although I had to work :( we did make it out to John's parents house to dye Easter eggs and get baskets, which was sweet. Later John got me a chocolate bunny and a lot of candy I don't need, but will eat anyways..I love that man!!! Speaking of love, Maddie still is well and as silly as ever. John taught her a new trick where he uses his finger a a "gun" and says "bang, bang" after which Maddie rolls over and plays dead. It is very cute. Anywho, we won't be out and about this weekend, but I will be sure to post about it later and hopefully we will be out and about the week afterwards...plus there is always Billy Idol to look forward to!!

I Went to New Orleans and All I Brought Myself Back Was a Nasty Hangover     3/7/2005     [4 comments]
Long time and no blog. I know I promised to blog a lot, but I have been a busy fool. First of all, the car drives lovely and drives like a dream . I absolutely love it. Next, three weeks ago Laura, Nicki and I through my husband (and I quote) the "best birthday party ever." If you weren't there then you missed it. Somehow (thanks to Nicki and Ace) the party lasted all weekend. It was a fun birthday weekend had by all. I would like to put out a special thank you to all those at the afterparty which was a blast and the great present from Laura and Alano. Unfortunatly, though I paid for all my "sins" and called into work sick Monday morning forcing myself to volunteer myself for working the following weekend...Oh well, it was well worth it. Thursday of that week, John and I went and saw Interpol play at Numbers. It was a great concert, but I am more looking forward to the Crystal Method and Billy Idol concerts coming up there soon. They will be GREAT!!!!!! Speaking of concerts, John and I bought tickets for Erasure playing at Verizon Wireless theatre this May..hopefully, it will be worth it. The weekend after John's birthday (the one I worked) we pretty much laid low. We saw a great movie Constantine with Keanu Reeves which was fun and I watched the trailer for the next big movie I am dying to see (The Ring 2...whoo-ooo). We also took Maddie Moo (as we call her) to school. She is now in aggravation training with other dogs, but because she gets so distracted easily it is sometimes hard for her, but oh well she and we are trying. Last Wednesday, John, Nicki, Ace and I all headed up to Club 1415 for the last Wednesday night they will do. Lots of people were there including Barbie, Laura, Jason, and Kelli which I was glad to see since its been awhile since she has been out. ...Oh and before I forget....Happy Birthday to Barbie...the big 2-1..sorry we missed the party, but we were in New Orleans.....Woo-hoo....This past weekend, John bowled in another National Bowling tournement (the last one he bowled in was back in Billings, Montana just weeks before we met;) )It was held in Baton Rouge, LA Friday night and Saturday morning. After bowling we ate a meal with the family (Johns sister and husband came with their daughter and John's parents came with our other niece..Audra had to work and Chris Smoke-the adopted son came too) and then while they headed home we headed East to Naw Olins..where we hit up Bourbon Street and the casino-Harrahs) While the casino was a bust (no wonder they make billions we lost every cent) Bourbon Street didn't dissappoint with all the craziness involved. I re-affirmed my love with the Mango daiquiri (see previous blogs) from Mango, Mangoes and found a new love for the Hurricane courtesy of Pat O'Briens or Pat O's as they call it( www.patobriens.com ) ...world famous and crowded for their hurricanes, but well worth the wait... we couldn't get a table, but they were so good we got them to go twice and took them up and down Borbon Street. I can't even express to you how good and lethel they are..I was well beyond drunk when the night was over. Yet, the party continued on long after I passed out. It was nuts..there were people throwing up in every bathroom I visited, people stubleing everywhere, dansing, flashing, peeing on the sidewalk and having a crazy time. I love it vist, but don't think I could ever stand to live there. It leaves great memories, though, of my cute drunk husband and I having a good old time up and down the strip:) Now that we are back in town, I am sure we will be up to our old regular tricks this weekend, but whatever happens..I will be sure to let ya know..SEE YA

Car Chaos     2/12/2005     [0 comments]

Look at me!!!!

So, John and I went out to the Nissan dealership just to "look" at cars..yet somehow we managed to leave with not one but two brand new cars. John got himself a 2005 silver Nissan Murano (leather interior) while I equipped myself with a silver 2005 Nissan Altima (see left) with the sunroof package. I would blog more about how amazing they are, but we are out and about driving them silly. See ya.

Superbowl Madness and Sadness     2/6/2005     [0 comments]

Had I been a betting woman, I would have put everything I had on the Patriots winning the superbowl, but in my heart I wanted the underdog Eagles to win so bad. And although the game was close, the Pats didn't disappoint and pulled out a win in the fourth quarter. Oh well, there is always next year. Hopefully, the Patriots' "dynasty" will be crushed and Houston can go to the Superbowl!!!!! On a positive side, the commercials for the most part were hilarious.

These past weeks have been pretty much same old, saae old at work. I really do enjoy my job, but it is still work. I recently bowled a 201 at bowling. It was so exciting. My average is only a 125, so this is HUGE for me!!!! In other news, John and I celebrated our two year marriage anivessary on the first of this month. John got me beautiful red and yellow roses  symbolizing our love and friendship which was sweet. After all these years, I still grow to love him more and more each day;)

Also, recently my sister-in-laws husband, Tom, celebrated his 60th birthday at a Mardi-Gras style party complete with mardi gras beads, cajun food and drink and a margarita machine. It was great. Speaking of birthdays...John's 30th is on the 18th of this month. I will tell you all about it afterwards....don't want to ruin the "surprise" (although John already knows...I am pretty sure). Also, my little niece's birthday is this month (Alesha). speaking of Alesha, I went to her volleyball tournament today. Although her team lost the match I watched, they had won earlier in the day...go Leese!!!

John Maddie and I are doing good over all. So until lthe next blog..see ya.

John is good..In fact he is quite the star over at his work. He was just proclaimed Employee of the Quarter. Dog is good, but growing up so fast. Family and friends are coping well and we all are just trying to get back to normal. Anywho, I will write a longer blog later...See ya Corrie

My Courageous Mother     1/16/2005     [4 comments]
Yesterday, (Saturday, January 15, 2005) at approximately 2:20 PM my mother Cindy Mae Wetzel-Floyd, 45, lost her fight 6 month fight to Neuro Endocrine Cancer. She will be laid to rest this Wednesday. She is survived by her husband (my dad) Homer, her daughters (me, 23, Miriam, 21, Bethany 16, and Kelsey, 7) her sons ( Raymond 19 and William, 13), her son-in-laws (John, 29 and Joel, 21) her sisters (Ann and Sue) and her great-grandmother (Jean) She was surrounded by friends, family and loved ones when she passed on in her own bedroom, which is what she wanted. I am thankful I was able to be able to be with her in these final days. I loved her so much. She was the most brave, caring and compassionate woman I know. When John says, "You are just like your mother," I take it as a compliment. After the funeral on Wednesday, John and I will be heading back down to Texas. Thanks again for everyone's support and love during this hard time in my families life.....and mom, I miss you already.
